SUMMARY:France Day 2026: Networking, Funding Opportunities and discussion o
 n Current Issues
DESCRIPTION:On 9 July, HU and the Centre Marc Bloch are jointly hosting the
  France Day 2026 at HU. The event brings together funding bodies, research
 ers and students, as well as representatives from the political sphere and
  civil society, and focuses on Franco-German relations. The France Day foc
 uses on academic networking, discussions on Franco-German research collabo
 rations, and raising awareness of funding opportunities and institutional 
 partnerships. Academics at Humboldt-Universität will have the opportunity
  to learn about existing collaborations with French partner institutions, 
 establish new contacts and find out about funding programmes and exchange 
 opportunities. At the same time, the Frankreichtag provides a forum for di
 scussing current European policy issues and incorporating perspectives fro
 m civil society.The France Day comprises three programme items:Research Lo
 unge: “Germany and France – Shared Challenges in Europe”The sixth Re
 search Lounge will take place in the Senate Hall from 12:00 to 13:30. It m
 arks the academic launch of France Day. Researchers at various stages of t
 heir careers will give short keynote talks presenting their Franco-German 
 projects on current social, political and academic challenges within the E
 uropean context. This will be followed by an opportunity for discussion an
 d networking.Networking event on Franco-German research cooperationFrom 14
 :00 to 16:45, also in the Senate Hall, there will be a networking event on
  funding and cooperation opportunities with French research institutions. 
 Representatives from various funding organisations and French partner inst
 itutions will present programmes and cooperation opportunities. In a serie
 s of World Café sessions, participants will then be able to exchange conc
 rete experiences of Franco-German cooperation in research and academia and
  establish new contacts. Contributions are planned from funding organisati
 ons such as the DAAD, DFG, DFH and DFJW, as well as from French higher edu
 cation and research institutions.Panel discussion in the Heilig-Geist Kape
 lle: “35 Years of the Weimar Triangle: Impulses for the Future of Europe
 ”France Day will conclude with a public panel discussion in the Heilig-G
 eist-Kapelle from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm. The discussion will focus on Europe
 s capacity to act and the current and future role of the Weimar Triangle
 . Experts from academia, politics and civil society will discuss German-Fr
 ench-Polish perspectives on European sovereignty, cooperation and democrat
 ic resilience in times of multiple crises. The event is also linked to two
  international programmes for young professionals – the Franco-German Pa
 rliamentary Internship and the International Parliamentary Scholarship –
  and is being organised in cooperation with the Genshagen Foundation.The d
 etailed programmes for the individual events will be published shortly.Reg
