SUMMARY:IN'Com – Accommodations in teaching and examinations – what mak
 es sense?
DESCRIPTION:IN’Com – Inspiration and exchange for greater inclusion in
higher education Focus for 2026: Neurodiversity From April 2026, the ‘St
udying with a Disability’ advisory service at the Centre for Equity, Div
ersity, Inclusion & Belonging at Humboldt Universität Berlin will continu
e the IN’Com workshop series, focusing on the theme of inclusion and acc
essibility. This year’s focus is on neurodiversity. The series offers pr
actical insights, expert input and a space for discussion: How can we ensu
re a sensitive and respectful approach? What are the dos and don’ts when
interacting with others – particularly when engaging with people with n
eurodivergent profiles? Topics include neurodiversity, comorbidities, comm
unication and compensating for disadvantages. Led by Katrin Rettel (Head o
f Inclusion & Accessibility Office , Study with a Disability Advisory Serv
ice) and moderated by Stefanie Trzecinski (KOPF, HAND + FUSS gGmbH, Berlin
), the series is aimed at teaching staff and other members of staff at HU.
What does accommodating disabilities mean in practice – and what really
works? In the fourth workshop of the series “IN'Com – Awareness-raisi
ng workshops for an inclusive community”, we move away from theory and e
ngage directly in dialogue: neurodivergent students and teaching staff dis
cuss together which forms of accommodation actually help – and where wel
l-intentioned measures fall flat. What do neurodivergent students really n
eed to be able to study on an equal footing? What is feasible from the tea
chers’ perspective – and where do they reach their limits? And how can
support measures be designed that do not stigmatise, but empower? The ope
n discussion session provides space for honest exchange, different perspec
tives and joint reflection. Format:Virtual via Zoom, featuring short keyno
te talks by experts followed by discussion. Registration & ContactRegister
for the workshopsEnquiries: Stefanie Trzecinski Participation is free of
charge. We look forward to your participation.
