Start the winter semester with as much presence as possible
The winter semester 2021/2022 is a transition semester to face-to-face teaching. A large number of face-to-face teaching events are planned. Digital courses and blended learning formats will also take place. It is essential to observe the current hygiene and safety measures (hygiene plan of the HU, as of 28 September 2021, PDF). during face-to-face events.
The buildings of Humboldt- Universität will be open again on a regular basis from 1 October and can be entered without special permission in order to carry out research, teaching, studying or academic self-administration activities.
Special rules apply to courses and events:
Masks & spacing
- Masks are still compulsory on all circulation areas, as well as in the events. Exceptions apply - as before - for practical sports teaching events, which are held on the basis of separate hygiene concepts.
- In closed rooms, a safety distance of at least 1.5 metres from other persons must be maintained.
- At events that fall short of the minimum distance, the wearing of FFP2 masks is obligatory. Lecturers are exempt from this requirement. For them, wearing a simple medical mask is sufficient as long as the distance to the auditorium is 1.5 metres or more.
Access & Attendance Documentation
- The 3G principle applies. Admission is therefore subject to proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or proof of a negative test result, which must not be older than 48 hours.
- Random checks of the proofs are carried out by the security staff. Teachers are also authorised to check these documents.
Already vaccinated? Mobile vaccination team visits HU's Mitte campus
As many students as possible should be able to attend classes safely in the coming winter semester in accordance with the current official regulations. For this reason, there are numerous vaccination offers on the campuses of Berlin's universities at the beginning of the winter semester - especially for first-year students.
On 11 and 15 October, a vaccination bus will come to the Mitte and Adlershof campuses and offer students and staff the opportunity to receive a first or second vaccination for protection against COVID-19. It is not necessary to book an appointment in advance.

- 11 October: Campus Mitte (in front of the Grimm Centre), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- October 15: Campus Mitte (in front of the Grimm Center) and Campus Adlershof (Brook-Taylor-Str. 2, towards Motorenprüfstand), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
