The application phase for the CENTRAL Leadership Programme 2026 has begun – and the programme is now in its third edition. The programme is aimed at Master’s and doctoral students who are interested in political, social, and historical contexts in Central and Eastern Europe and would like to further develop their leadership skills.
The interdisciplinary programme was developed in cooperation with foreign ministries and selected NGOs from the partner countries. Its core element is a three-week mobile Summer School (31 August–20 September 2026) with programme components in Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, and Warsaw. In addition, the programme spans an academic year and is complemented by preparatory and accompanying online formats.
A central feature of the programme is active participant engagement: Students and doctoral candidates have the opportunity to make small but meaningful contributions – for example, through short case studies during the Summer School or by engaging in the alumni network (e.g. by helping organise an event). At the same time, all participants become part of the CENTRAL Leadership Alumni Association, which facilitates professional exchange beyond the programme.
