Research reports

According to § 41 BerlHG, Berlin's universities are obliged to report regularly on their research activities. The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin fulfils this reporting obligation by producing the HU Research Report (HUFOB), which is published periodically (currently every two years). The target groups are the university and its partners, funding bodies, politicians and the general public. The most recent research report covers the years 2021 to 2022. This report focuses not only on the university's institutes and faculties, but also includes content on academic freedom, artificial intelligence and early-career researchers.

Third-party funding expenditure

The Unit for Research Information and Monitoring collects a variety of facts and figures describing externally funded research at the Humboldt-Universität. The annual survey of third-party funding expenditure also serves as a basis for the distribution of additional funds (“Ergänzungsausstattung”), among other things. Finally, the collected and processed data also inform reports such as the accountability report of HU’s Executive Board.
