Venture Service

The Venture Service team supports the knowledge and technology transfer
of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin by fostering the establishment of
research-based startups with a link to the university. By close
cooperation of the Research Service Centre (Servicezentrum Forschung,
SZF) and Humboldt-Innovation GmbH, the Venture Service offers assistance
to prospective entrepreneurs and existing startups from HU, e.g. with
the development of their business plan as well as with finding and
applying for funding opportunities and follow-up financing. The young
entrepreneurs also profit from a variety of events organized by the
Venture Service team. Additionally, Humboldt-Universität offers office
spaces to startup projects, which are located in one of the two
“Gründerhäuser” in Berlin-Mitte and Berlin-Adlershof.

The transfer and startup promotion is supported by the means of the
European Social Fund (ESF) and the Senate Administration for Economics,
Technology and Research.

Innovation Management

The Innovation Management team offer HU scientist comprehensive consultation and advice for transferring knowledge and technology into markets and society. They analyse together with the scientists the application-orientation of their respective ideas and research results. The objective is to commercialize innovative research.

The team scouts and analyses the potential of the scientists’ ideas and research with regards to transferability and transfer-related funding.

Furthermore, the Innovation Management team host several networking events for academia and business and offer workshops and training on transfer-related topics.

The transfer and start-up support at HU is endowed by funding from the European Social Fund and the Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Technologie und Forschung.

With “Humboldts Wagniswerkstätten”, the HU establishes an interdisciplinary education programme for transfer-related knowledge and skills, funded by the IHK Berlin. In a practice-oriented as well as a more theory-based workshop format, researchers and students develop ideas and solutions for real-life questions posed by local companies and gain insights and hands-on skills in intra-& entrepreneurship.
