Application deadlines and documents for undergraduate degree programmes
The application deadline is a cut-off deadline (Ausschlussfrist). All documents in the right format must reach uni-assist till this date. Submitting any additional documents past the deadline is not possible. The stated application period applies to all international applicants including EU/EEA applicants.
Undergraduate degree programmes with and without NC (bachelor's degree, state examinations)
- Winter semester: 01 June to 15 July (cut-off deadline)
- Summer semester: 01 December to 15 January (cut-off deadline)
Your application or enrolment will not be considered if received after the deadline.
Application documents
We recommend that you apply as early as possible at the beginning of the application period.
The application deadline applies to the receipt of your complete application with all documents by uni-assist.
If you apply early, you can submit any missing documents within the application period or make changes to the application. This is no longer possible after the application deadline.
Please submit your application with all required documents to uni-assist online. Save the documents in PDF format and label the files clearly, e.g. CV, German language certificate. Your documents are marked with a time-stamp when they are uploaded to uni-assist. It is not necessary to send the documents in paper form. Please note that all certificates and documents not issued in German or English must also be submitted with an official translation.
The following documents must be submitted with the application via uni-assist:
- Secondary school leaving certificate with overview of subjects and grades, please refer to the country information from uni-assist
- University entrance examination certificate (if applicable)
- Certificate of passing the assessment test (FSP) of the Studienkolleg/preparatory college (if applicable)
- If you have already studied at another university, regardless of where: Proof of all academic achievements already completed with grades (transcript of records) and, if you have completed a degree programme, the degree certificate (diploma), diploma supplement (if applicable). Please also note the country information at uni-assist.
- Official translation of all certificates and documents that are not issued in German or English
- Proof of the required language skills:
a) Proof of German language proficiency at level C1 in the form of a certificate
b) Proof of further language skills for an application as shown via Further Admission Requirements
Further requirements
- If applicable and as shown via Further Admission Requirements
- If you are currently studying at a German/Austrian college/university: Certificate of enrolment with details of subjects and semesters of study
- If you have already studied at a German/Austrian university: Proof of de-registration/confirmation of departure with details of subjects and semesters of study
- Justification for a second degree programme (if applicable)
- Complete curriculum vitae (from the start of school education to the date of application)
- Copy of passport or identity card; if you have multiple citizenships, all proofs
- for applications from China, India and Vietnam: Certificate from the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS)
