Grade conversion at HU Berlin

Since the ratification of the Lisbon Convention in Germany in 2007, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin has set out to continuously and bindingly implement the guidelines of the European Commission regarding the recognition and crediting of foreign university achievements.

With regard to the conversion of foreign university grades, the Lisbon Convention does not provide a fixed regulation. The Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (KMK) and the German Rectors' Conference (HRK, project nexus) recommend first and foremost that examinations taken abroad should be credited to the study account at the home university without any grades if possible. However, the following grade conversion methods can also be used.
