Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at Humboldt-Universität

The Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging follows a holistic approach that takes into account as many dimensions of diversity as possible.

Mission Statement

For Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, equality of opportunity means that all members of the university community should have the same opportunities to realise their potential, regardless of their social background and migration history, gender, ethnicity, religion or beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity or other characteristics.

HU’s aim is to raise awareness of diversity, to create a discrimination-free and inclusive environment for teaching, learning, research and work, and to promote diversity among its members. Accordingly, at HU, the promotion of equal opportunities is always considered in conjunction with the elimination of existing inequalities, barriers and disadvantages, and thus equally with the combating and prevention of discrimination and violence.
