Counselling and Consulting

The Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging provides or coordinates consultation for those affected by discrimination. We also offer support services. These are based on different legal frameworks and are aimed at different target groups. Details and contact information for the individual services can be found in the relevant entry.

Referral advice: Who should I contact?

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin has an extensive network of consulting services who can assist in cases of discrimination. If you wish, we can find the right person to help with your specific concern and put you in touch with them.

Anti-discrimination

The Anti-Discrimination & Diversity team is the central point of contact for members of the Humboldt community who have experienced discrimination. We consult you about which steps to take, you can find out about relevant support services and report incidents.

Gender equity & gender-based discrimination

The consultation services provided by the Women’s Representatives and Equal Opportunities Officer are aimed at women* from all member groups at HU, as well as female researchers* who are interested in pursuing an academic career at our university. 

Gender Equality & Diversity in Research Alliances

Are you working on a research grant application to the DFG, or has one of your applications already been approved? If so, GeCo – GenderConsulting can help you with any questions you may have regarding equality, family-friendly policies and diversity.

Our consulation services are aimed at students, school pupils and prospective students with a health-related disability.

Anti-Semitism

Niels Helle-Meyer is the Anti-Semitism Officer at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and, as such, acts as the main point of contact and advice centre for Jewish students and staff. The Anti-Semitism Officer works closely with the Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, which houses the Anti-Semitism Prevention Unit.

Anti-Muslim Racism

CLAIM, a charity that campaigns nationwide against anti-Muslim racism and hostility towards Islam and Muslims, offers a specialist consultation service in the main building as part of a partnership with the Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging since 2026.

Conflict resolution

In the spirit of respectful coexistence, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is committed to ensuring that all members of the university community interact in a fair and considerate manner. Dealing with conflicts constructively is a key part of this. The Conflict Resolution Service is here to support you in resolving a wide variety of conflicts.
