Consolidate the budget for equal opportunities initiatives
Research projects can pool their DFG grants for equal opportunities initiatives and jointly fund measures to promote equality and diversity – such as interdisciplinary conferences or workshops. At HU, research consortia have joined forces in the METIS project, the only one of its kind in Germany, named after the Greek goddess of wise counsel.
METIS Project
The METIS digital information platform connects clusters of excellence, collaborative research centres, research training groups and (clinical) research groups affiliated with HU Berlin that focus on equality and diversity. It provides information on current opportunities, highlights ways in which equality funding can be used in accordance with DFG guidelines, and offers partners visibility for their work on equality. In this way, practical knowledge and ideas are preserved, the diverse range of equality initiatives in and around Berlin is made more visible, and dialogue on equality, family-friendliness and diversity is promoted – with the overarching aim of achieving equality between women and men in science and research at HU.
Since 2018, METIS has been centrally coordinated by HU’s GeCo-GenderConsulting.
Participation
Interested research consortia with links to HU can join at any time and participate in the METIS consortium project on a quarterly basis.
