Project structure and partnerships

Project structure

The project is divided into two sub-areas led by Dr. Verena Namberger (Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging) and Prof. Dr. Bernd Wolfarth (Sports Medicine), with overall responsibility resting with Christin Thiel, Head of the President’s Office (Official Project Manager). Together with the University Health Management, experts from Techniker Krankenkasse and AOK Nordost, they are working to further develop holistic health management at HU and to embed health as an integral part of everyday university life.

The Health Management sub-project based at the Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging is placing increasing emphasis on services for people facing intersectional discrimination, for example through the LGBTIQ*H(ealth) project. The accompanying scientific research and evaluation, the second pillar of the Health Management, is based in sports medicine and places a particular focus on the topic of ‘active teaching’.
