Report barriers!
Many physical barriers arise unintentionally, partly because many of HU’s buildings are listed or because the university only rents them. If you notice any barriers – such as a broken accessible toilet, a faulty lift or a parking space for people with disabilities being used by someone else – you can report them here.
Strategic partnership
This thematic area serves as a strategic focal point for accessibility and inclusion at HU. We work closely with key stakeholders at HU – the employer’s Inclusion Officer, the representatives for people with severe disabilities, and the representatives for students with disabilities. Furthermore, our team acts as the secretariat of the Academic Senate’s Commission for an accessible University.

IN'Com – Inspiration and dialogue for greater inclusion in higher education
Focus for 2026: Neurodiversity
In 2026, we are continuing the IN’Com workshop series. This year’s focus is on neurodiversity. The series offers practical insights, expert input and a space for discussion: How can we interact in a sensitive and respectful manner? What are the dos and don’ts of working together – particularly when interacting with people with neurodivergent profiles? Topics include neurodiversity, comorbidities, communication and compensating for disadvantages.
Moodle course: ‘Working, teaching and studying inclusively’
Inclusion is not a matter of choice, but our responsibility.
This course invites you to familiarise yourself with inclusion at HU and to play an active role in shaping it. It offers valuable tips and practical guidance and can be used flexibly at any time – with no compulsory tasks. Think of it as a living resource that is constantly growing and encourages you to deepen your knowledge through further links and materials.
