In accordance with Section 28a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG), the representatives for students with disabilities and chronic illnesses are involved in shaping the study conditions for students with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
In doing so, they advise and support the President’s Executive Council and the other bodies and institutions of the university on all strategic matters relating to people with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
This is accompanied by the right to necessary and relevant information, as well as the right to participate, submit motions and speak in all university bodies.
The representatives support the ‘Studying with a Disability’ Consultation Service at the Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging in cases of conflict and in clarifying matters of principle.
The role of representatives under Section 28a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG) will be carried out as a team until 31 July 2027 by:

The role involves, in particular, making the structural arrangements for the regular election of the representatives.
