A nature experience trail for all: Public presentation

How can an inclusive, accessible nature experience trail be designed? The presentation will show how people with mobility or cognitive impairments, as well as those with hearing or visual disabilities, can participate through barrier-free access, Braille, and German Sign Language.

Description

In the seminar, the results of the project “Inklusiver Naturerlebnispfad Langer Trödel” will be presented. It was developed jointly by students from the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development and students from the seminar "Fachdidaktik inklusiv" at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences.

The objectives of the project within the framework of Education for Sustainable Development are:

  • to convey the ecological interrelationships of different habitats
  • to facilitate access to nature through sensory perception and bodily experience, making it accessible in multiple languages and forms of communication for people with disabilities
