Recognising Anti-Muslim Racism – gaining confidence in taking action. Practical basic training for counsellors and administrative staff

An initiative by the Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging in collaboration with CLAIM gGmbH

As support staff and administrative staff at Humboldt-Universität, you are often the first point of contact for students and colleagues. Your role requires particular sensitivity to diversity and forms of discrimination.

This workshop covers the basics of Anti-Muslim Racism and discrimination, highlights their relevance to administrative and advisory work, and offers you a safe space for discussion, reflection and a practical examination of examples from your own work experience. The aim is to expand your systematic knowledge, encourage reflection on your own attitudes and structural contexts, and develop practical skills for dealing with everyday university life in a professional and discrimination-sensitive manner. This will strengthen your professional confidence and ensure that the services you provide in an administrative and counselling context are sensitive to issues of discrimination.
