Contributions to the participatory development and implementation of the overall concept by means of environmental education, professional education, and communication

<p>Objectives: Within the framework of 4 Modules, scientific concepts for
education, extension and communication will be developed. The common
denominator of those Modules is the overall concept concerning the
sustainable development of forested landscapes in the lowlands of
north-eastern Germany. Moreover, all outputs refer to a common type of
forest and an identic region. Concepts are exemplarily implemented, i.e.,
they will be practically tested, analysed and evaluated.</p>

<p>Module 1: Environmental education for sustainable deveopment of forested
landscapes: A sustainable effect on education can be obtained particularly
with students. Hence, a series of educational "building-blocks" will be
designed and exemplarily proven. Secondary school students are the main
target group.</p>

<p>Module 2: Curricula for vocational education: Parts of the curricula for
vocational training of hunters and foresters will be revised and
critically analysed with regard to the contents of NEWAL-NET; gaps and
weaknesses will be identified.</p>

<p>Module 3: Landscape Workshop Schorfheide-Chorin: It will be the base for
advise on sustainable development of forested landscapes, for the
project's public relations, and a central platform for communicating
outputs of the other sub-projects. A forest-related landscape exhibition
will be an outstanding medium and working instrument.</p>

<p>Module 4: Support and supervision of internal and external project
communication: advise for the consortium and other sub-projects;
development and implementation of an integrated concept of the
consortium's public relations.</p>
