Project description

Empirical higher education research has been dealing with questions of social disparities in university access for years and highlights the disadvantages of people from non-academic parental homes or with a migration background. Little research has been done to date on the transition after the first degree leading to a professional qualification and the subsequent career biography, which will be the focus of this project from a research perspective. The passage from study to work is also of considerable relevance against the backdrop of the discussions on equal opportunities, since on the one hand it includes the goal of social participation, and on the other hand there are numerous indications that social differences still have an effect at this transition point.
