Dag Hamarskjöld Visiting Professorship

The Swedish government established a visiting professorship at the Department for Northern European Studies in October 1998. The chair was first held by prof. Torsten Nybom (history, 1998-2000) and prof. Birgitta Holm (literature, 2000-2001), both from University of Uppsala. In 2002 the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation took on the task of funding the chair the name of which was changed into Dag Hamarskjöld Professorship.
