Project description
The project AcetylPlast will advance knowledge in plant biology, photosynthesis regulation, and stress acclimation
by uncovering new mechanisms of plastid protein acetylation, proteostasis, and PS. In the longer term, these insights may support strategies to enhance crop performance and resilience, contributing to sustainable agriculture. The project strengthens French-German scientific cooperation, building on previous ANR-DFG collaborations, including a workshop on plastid protein modifications co-organized by Finkemeier and Giglione in November 2024. This dynamic will continue through the ISPT International Congress in Palermo (June 2026), coordinated by C. Giglione, with partial funding requested to support participation of consortium members. Dissemination will occur through openaccess publications, data repositories, and presentations at international conferences. In parallel, outreach activities will be developed in coordination with institutional communication offices, notably through participation in science outreach events such as the Fête de la Science, school visits at local, national, and international levels, and presentations aimed at introducing plant biology and biotechnology to younger audiences. Franco-German exchanges and cross-laboratory training will strengthen early-career researcher development through joint supervision, methodological
workshops, and lab visits. These efforts ensure broad scientific, societal, and international impact, in
full alignment with PRCI priorities.
