Project description

The molecular basis of Chorea Huntington is an amyloid-like aggregation of Huntingtin proteins which harbour an local enrichment of ß-sheet forming glutamine residues ( poly(Q) repeats ). Aggregation depends on the concentration of huntingtin as well as the on the presence of other proteins. The project studies the influence of lipids and membranes on formation of amyloid-like aggregates of huntingtin by biophysical, biochemical and cell biology approaches.
