Project description

The project AIScholComm addresses challenges arising from (1) AI publishing strategies, (2) AI policies of academic journals and publishers, and (3) the integration of AI tools into publishing services and publicly funded research institutions. The goal of AIScholComm is to develop recommendations for shaping this field based on a systematic analysis of current strategic and operational applications of AI by publishers and publication service providers. These recommendations aim to strengthen scientific integrity, enhance digital sovereignty in publicly funded research, and support the ability of academic institutions to act effectively. Through analysis, evaluation, and recommendations, the project contributes to shaping the structural framework for a community-driven development of the academic publishing landscape.
