Project description
This project aims to accumulate control knowledge for closed systems to reduce the input for plant production and to increase the energy harvesting. With new developed technologies for running greenhouses for plant production and as solar collector, algorithm and technics for controlling these systems are necessary. Because of the complex approach, new software methods including artificial intelligence tools are helpful to optimize plant growth and energy output from these greenhouses. With the 4 year experiences in collaboration with the Mexican scientists a division of labor was established. The necessary expertise in mathematics and modeling was given by Mexican side, where the experimental facility and the free programmable computer control system were established in Germany. The aim of the project will be the development of the control knowledge for high energy harvesting, optimal climate control, and minimized water use efficiency.
