Project description

It has been shown that event knowledge is represented in memory either sequentially or hierarchically. However, the conceptual representation of event knowledge is more flexible than common theories suggest. It shall be investigated how attention can be directed to different hierarchical levels of abstraction so that the temporal order information of the event sequence can be retrieved. Further, it shall be investigated how information about the temporal duration of single events within an event sequence is represented and how this information is retrieved. Behavioural as well as psychophysiological methods will be applied.
