Description

The transfer project aims to develop an AI-based platform to promote energy efficiency in private households, thereby supporting climate change mitigation. The platform will use recently developed recommendation systems to provide households with suggestions for shifting the timing of electrical appliances usage, thus reducing CO2 emissions from electricity generation. The platform will be available as a web-based service and a mobile app, and will include an interface for integration into dashboards of energy companies.

Currently, load shifting as a practical application is not widespread and is mainly used in the industrial sector. The few existing solutions on the market for load shifting in households typically rely on automated control and energy storage systems. This restricts user control and energy storage is not available for most households. This platform seeks to overcome these challenges by operating without the need for energy storage and giving users full control over their energy consumption times.

The transfer project aims to bring results of fundamental research to the market. The long-term goal is to raise users' awareness of their own energy consumption and its direct impact on CO2 emissions. Users should realize that even small behavioral changes can contribute significantly to climate change mitigation.
