Project description

In 1820 the German chemnist and industrialist J.G. Dingler first started publishing the "Polytechnische Journal". The journal was published over a period of 111 years and has hence become an important and European wide source for the history of knowledge, culture, and technology - in German at least it is without compare. The project is a cooperation between the Institut für Kulturwissenschaft at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, the Sächsischen Landesbibliothek - Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden and an experienced service provider for digitization, Editura GmbH. We aim at digitizing Dingler's "Polytechnisches Journal" as well as publishing it completely on the web. Access to Dingler-Online will be absolutely free of charge.
