Project description

This subproject focuses on improving the handling of Data Analysis Workflows (DAWs) using interactive interfaces. The project aims to address challenges faced by workflow developers and maintainers by: (a) extending workflow definition languages to incorporate user interactions for DAWs, (b) investigating user interaction preferences in DAWs, and (c) conducting empirical studies to evaluate user performance during workflow development, analysis, and execution. The project adopts a novel approach by studying DAW interfaces through empirical user studies, aiming to reduce implementation time and minimize errors. By leveraging human-computer in-teraction methods and integrating them with software engineering approaches, the research aims to enhance the usability and sustainability of DAWs, aligning with the goals of FONDA II.
