Summer schools "Fun with Math"

The Department of Mathematics at Humboldt University is closely cooperating with Berlin gymnasia in order to promote mathematically talented and highly interested high school students. The annual highlight of this cooperation are the Summer Schools "Fun with Math" installed in 2001. About 40 high school students, 6 teachers, and 6 faculties gather together near Berlin for a week. Supported by faculties, the high school students investigate mathematical problems in small groups. At the end of the week the groups present their results to their fellow participants and document their work by a written report. This way they become acquanted with scientific methods.
