Structural Change in South-Eastern Anatolia’s Agricultural Sector

The research project “Structural Change in Agriculture Southeast Anatolia” is concerned with the question as to whether the construction of dams and irrigation systems in the Turkish border with Syria lead to a sustainable improvement of living conditions of the rural population. A particular focus of the project rests on the question of whether these infrastructure projects result in a fair distribution of the high valued natural resources water and land. The project funds are used to conduct an empirical case study in the study region. The data collection is based on qualitative and participatory interview techniques.
