Transcultural Interface and local applications of Asian and western medical systems: transfer, integration and transformation between Asia and Europe

This interdisciplinary conference will sound out globalisation and localisation processes among and between Asian 'traditional' and western 'scientific' medical systems and concepts. Social scientists, medical anthropologists and medical professionals will discuss their respective approaches, aims, problems and potentialities of their own research and in mutual exchange. Among them are invited guests from Asia and the UK.
