Investigation of epigenetic adaptation processes in birds: prenatal and postnatal c-Fos expression after acute temperature stress in chickens with different prenatal temperature experiences.

The project deals with c-Fos expression in the chicken´s hypothalamus. The birds are incubated at different temperatures during the last days of incubation. C-Fos expression is detected by immunohistochemistry after acute heat stress. The investigations are carried out in embryos at the end of incubation and in juvenile and adult birds. The project is supported by the Deutsche Fgemeinschaft (research grant).
