Project description

In 2014, some 10,000 documents from the estate of the eminent anglo-German jurist, F.A. Mann, were bequeathed to the archive of the Humboldt University. Mediating between legal practice and scholarship, between English and German law, F.A. Mann, deeply influenced the development of public international law, private international law, and commercial law. Based on these and other documents, and the oral history of colleagues and friends, this project seeks to show how the work of F.A. Mann has shaped the law until today.
