preparatory module for an Einstein Center Climate Change

The aim of this proposal is to prepare a revised proposal for an Einstein Center Climate
Change, following the responses of reviewers to the previous proposal. We have decided to
introduce major modifications, including a shift to a more integrated and scalable approach
as recommended by the reviewers. The overall goal is to set up and institutionalize a center
that increases understanding of risks and hazards, mitigation as well as adaptation
measures to reduce vulnerability and to increase overall resilience to climate change within
the broader picture of global social-ecological change. It specifically aims to address the
climate action implementation gap in cities, with Berlin as an insightful case, while
generalizing these insights for other cities.
