Project description
The aim of the project is to provide coherent scientific monitoring and support for the Startchancen programme (SCP) for structurally disadvantaged schools, taking into account federal state-specific conditions. The project supports all those involved in the school system in an evidence-based and needsbased manner, activates knowledge and action logics at all levels of the system and identifies conditions for success and examples of good practice. In addition to stakeholder groups from structurally disadvantaged schools (learners and their social spaces, teachers and other educational staff, school management and steering groups), the support systems (in particular school authorities and local authorities, school supervisory authorities, the core administration of the ministries, state institutes, quality agencies and school development support) are primarily addressed. The project sees itself as a supportive, co-designing organisation in which potentials, conditions for success, and effects for the SCP are worked out in an empirical and design-oriented manner.
The IKOM Interdisciplinary Learning and Career Orientation (ÜB) aims to promote interdisciplinary competencies and career orientation for learners. Another focus is on supporting the transition from school to vocational training, especially for learners disadvantaged due to socioeconomic and migration-related factors. By specifically fostering interdisciplinary competencies in primary and secondary education, the initiative seeks to promote individual skill development, strengthen resilience factors, and support successful transitions from primary to secondary school and from school to vocational training. At the institutional and systemic levels, IKOM ÜB aims to reduce disadvantages in educational processes, enhance teachers' competencies in the addressed areas, and promote the optimal use of training resources.
