HU Institutional Strategy: KOSMOS Workshop 2014 – Empire Religions, Theologies and Indigenous Knowledge Systems

The KOSMOS workshop “Empire Religions, Theologies, and Indigenous Knowledge Systems” focuses on the role of religion as an institution of power-legitimation. Further clarification is needed on the question of how social formations of imperial religion as well as other religious forms were linked to the relations between Africa and Europe during the colonial and post-colonial phase. Case studies contributed by scientists from Germany and South Africa will help to clarify and differentiate this question.
