New training year at Humboldt-Universität

21 new employees start training in six professions

In September, 21 new employees began their training in six professional fields at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU). They had qualified for the training programme from over 700 applicants. The trainees were welcomed by HU Vice President for Budget, Personnel and Technology, Niels Helle-Meyer, and Head of Training, Carola Hahn, at a ceremony on 1 September. The training programme lasts up to 3.5 years and takes place in the following professions: Draughtsman, chemical laboratory technician, electronics technician, industrial mechanic, media and information services specialist, administrative assistant and administrative assistant with English language qualification. The occupational fields offered vary depending on the year. Apprenticeships for plant mechanics, gardeners and event management assistants are being planned for 2026. Applications for the 2026 training year can be submitted from 1 September to 31 January 2026 (the deadline for plant mechanics and industrial mechanics is 28 February 2026). The application period for the dual study programme "Public Administration" also ends on 31 January 2026.
