Discussion event at the Integrative Research Institute Law & Society (LSI)

The Integrative Research Institute Law & Society (LSI) of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin invites you to a public discussion event on Friday, 20 June 2025, 12 pm to 2 pm, on the separation of powers in the USA and the debates about it since the 1950s.

Under the title "The Rule of Law in America. Executive Power from Robert Jackson to Donald Trump", US legal scholars Andrew Weissmann, NYU Law School, and Kim Lane Scheppele, Princeton University, will discuss Robert Jackson, who as Attorney General in President Franklin Roosevelt's cabinet advocated a strong executive branch, and the current US President Donald Trump's understanding of the separation of powers.
