What would a Berlin summer be without water? In the capital and the surrounding area, we live alongside and with the River Spree – and, at the same time, with the consequences of climate change. To raise awareness of responsible water use, visitBerlin has launched the “BerlinPay 2026” campaign. Until 14 June, residents and visitors alike can do their bit by, for example, helping to plant, watering trees, travelling by bike or collecting litter. Those who take part will be rewarded – with cultural events, free drinks and leisure activities by the water.
Humboldt-Universität is inviting visitors to free curator-led tours of the exhibition “On Water. WasserWissen in Berlin” at the Humboldt Labor in the Humboldt Forum. These tours offer fascinating insights into the creation of the exhibition, the diverse scientific and artistic perspectives on water, and its significance both on our doorstep and worldwide.
