Dr. Alia Rayyan is a writer, lecturer, and curator. She holds a Ph.D. in Culture Science from Leuphana University and an M.A. in International Politics, Sociology, and Art History from the University of Hamburg and SOAS, University of London.She has worked in Berlin, Beirut, New York, Amman, and Ramallah with international cultural institutions and art publications. Her work focuses on translating knowledge production from curatorial practice to theory, an approach shaped by her experiences in the field. Since 2023, Dr. Rayyan has been a researcher and lecturer at the Chair of Theory and Practice of Interdisciplinary Curating, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she contributes to the creation of a new cross-disciplinary MA program, Transforming Knowledge and Critical Heritage. She is also part of the curatorial team at the Humboldt Forum for the annual program Family Matters.
