Research in times of Corona

How research activities on the Campus Nord of Humboldt-Universität are slowly picking up

How research activities on the Campus Nord of Humboldt-Universität are slowly picking up - Interview
with Dr. Stefanie Scharf (IRI Life Sciences, Managing Director) and Dr. Benedikt Beckmann (IRI Life Sciences, Group Leader "Molecular Infection Biology")

Humboldt-Universität is currently working in "restricted mode" - that is the official term. All buildings are closed to the public, courses continue to be held online, and presence exams are possible, subject to the rules of distance and hygiene. And how is research at  Humboldt-Universität doing? It is slowly returning from the COVID-19-related standstill. "We are currently back to 50 percent," says Benedikt Beckmann, Group Leader "Molecular Infection Biology" at IRI Life Sciences on Campus Nord of Humboldt-Universität. What he hadn't expected during the Corona period: the cooperation has become surprisingly close in a scientific environment where there is a lot of competition. "I already have the hope that this will remain, that it could catch on," says Benedikt Beckmann.
