News from the alumni network

The legal review has revealed that parts of the resolution exceed the scope of the university’s policy mandate and contravene the statutory prohibition of discrimination. The President’s Executive Council has therefore repealed the relevant points.

Open Humboldt

The first Open Humboldt Award has been presented to Prof. Dr Petra Anders of the Department of Education Studies. The award recognises researchers at Humboldt-Universität who make academic topics accessible to a wider public.

The cultural history essay “La bibliothèque retrouvée” by Vanessa de Senarclens tells the story of the 16,000 books from the Plathe Castle Library that disappeared in 1945. Her investigation is now awarded the Prix Montesquieu.
