The excellence of Humboldt-Universität is the result of the outstanding research of its academics. Numerous researchers have already been honoured with high-ranking national and international science awards.

The Nobelpreis, which has been awarded since 1901, is one of the most important international research awards. 30 Humboldtians are among the ranks of excellent scientists who have been honoured with the award for their outstanding scientific achievements.

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz-Preis

The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz-Preis has been awarded annually by the Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) since 1986 and is the most important prize for research funding in Germany. The prize is awarded in response to proposals from the scientific community and following an international review. The Leibniz Prize is awarded for a period of seven years.

ERC Grants

The European Commission supports excellent cutting-edge research through the European Research Council. Researchers at all career stages can apply for funding each year: While the ERC Starting Grant, Consolidator Grant and Advanced Grant offer individual funding, the ERC Synergy Grant supports collaborations of two to four leading scientists.
