Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is a hub for international cooperation and maintains a wide range of collaborative relationships. Our individual collaborations extend across numerous international teaching and research projects, which are driven forward through the teamwork of individual scientists. HU's strategic partnerships reflect a university-wide, cross-faculty interest and play a significant role in building the university's international profile.

Excellent research requires strong networks! Humboldt University collaborates with leading universities worldwide through its strategic partnerships to foster knowledge exchange and jointly address global challenges.

Humboldt-Universität is involved in the two academic networks Circle U. and CENTRAL in order to expand its commitment in Europe.

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is committed to equal and responsible collaborations at a regional and international level. We are active in Central and Eastern Europe as well as in the global South.

Teaching abroad and study trips

Up to two weeks teaching and networking in Paris or Dublin? Up to twelve days abroad with students and doctoral candidates? No problem. Find out here what the requirements are and how to apply for funding.

If you teach at HU, you can visit a partner university for a short teaching period as part of the Erasmus programme.

With Erasmus+, you can go on business trips to Partner Countries as university staff members.

COIL stands for Collaborative Online International Learning and allows you to internationalise your courses. It can all be done from Berlin, in an unbureaucratic manner and with additional support for planning and implementation.

There are funding options available for group trips and excursions for students and doctoral candidates. The application must be submitted by a member of the teaching staff. Find out how this works and what you need to take into account.

The Erasmus+ programme offers a wide variety of opportunities for international learning, teaching and networking. Blended Intensive Programmes combine virtual teaching components with short stays abroad for in-person meetings.

HU employees can receive funding for vocational further training abroad. Possible formats include job shadowing, staff training weeks, workshops, language courses.

Through the Erasmus+ programme, HU staff members can receive funding for workplace-related further education and training abroad. You can read here about how this works and which funding is available for your stay abroad.

The Procope Mobilité programme offered by the French Embassy provides grants for early-career researchers to conduct research stays in France lasting one to three months. Applications from all disciplines are welcome until 26 January.
