Joint research between Tel Aviv and Berlin
For 15 years, Tel Aviv University (TAU) and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) have been linked by a close partnership in the areas of student exchange, teaching and research. To mark this anniversary, we are joining forces to support new and existing bilateral research collaborations. This collaboration is made possible by a grant from the Stiftung Humboldt-Universität.
The Joint Call for Proposals aims to fund joint research and innovation activities by researchers from TAU and HU. The aim of the call is to initiate high-quality joint projects, further develop cross-institutional collaborations and lay the foundations for successfully securing further external funding.
Eligible for funding include, amongst others:
- joint research and innovation projects,
- joint workshops and academic events,
- research and academic exchanges,
- the establishment or further development of joint research networks.
Funding
Up to 20,000 euros per project is available for a funding period of twelve months from 1 January to 31 December 2027.

Staff costs for professors, postdoctoral researchers and administrative staff, as well as scholarships for students and costs for technical or laboratory equipment, are not eligible for funding.
Due to budgetary requirements, the HU must ensure that the approved funds are spent by the end of November each year.
