As part of the DWIH’s annual theme “Science for Society,” this German-Brazilian expert conference brings together researchers and professionals from science communication, journalism, higher education, research institutions, funding organizations, and policymaking. The conference aims to compare structures, roles, and challenges in science communication in both countries, foster mutual exchange, and develop new impulses for dialogue, participation, and public trust. The event addresses the profound transformation of science communication driven by digital platforms, artificial intelligence, societal polarization, and disinformation. These developments are creating new demands on researchers and scientific institutions, as well as on their engagement with diverse publics.
The German Centre for Research and Innovation São Paulo (DWIH São Paulo) offers mobility grants to support participation. Applications are open to doctoral researchers and postdocs who conduct research in science communication or work in another academic field and have gained initial practical experience in science communication.
