Tasks and areas of responsibility
The Presidium is a central body of the university - alongside the University Senate and Academic Council - and works according to the collegial principle, with the President having the authority to issue directives. The work of the Presidium is supported by the Presidium Representative for International and European Affairs.
The Presidium's tasks include the overall development and strategic direction of Humboldt-Universität. It sets priorities and goals for the development of the university and develops corresponding strategies and implementation concepts. Aspects such as internationalisation, funding, study programmes, quality assurance and equal opportunities play an important role in this.
The Presidium represents the university to external stakeholders such as political decision-makers, business partners and the public, thus promoting dialogue between the university and society. In an annual report, it informs the Board of Governors and Academic Council about the fulfilment of the university's tasks.
