Connecting Knowledge
In the past, teaching at Objektlabor – as in the neighboring Tieranatomisches Theater – centred primarily on animal specimens and has always combined craft with academic and creative knowledge. Today, the space hosts a wide variety of teaching, research and experimental formats, including performances, installations, artistic research and participatory projects.
Equipment at Objektlabor
The basic equipment of the Objektlabor include not only a wet lab area and a fume cupboard for experiments, but also a dance floor for performative and body-centred work. Display cases along one wall enable the presentation of selected objects from the HU’s teaching collections or other objects and materials, which are thus made visible and accessible for specific projects. When organising teaching and event formats of a transdisciplinary or participatory nature, the team from the ‘Knowledge Exchange with Society’ competence area provides support.
