Development of a Curriculum - Supply Chain Management and Post-Harvest Technology for Vegetables and Fruits - DOCUMAP
Auf einen Blick
Projektbeschreibung
DOCUMAP is created as an answer to specific pressing problems and needs identified in the partner countries Indonesia, Vietnam, China, as well as Germany, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden in food production and supply - and the university education and international academic cooperation in this field. In the European partner countries, the necessity for internationalisation of university education is recognised clearly also in agricultural and horticultural disciplines, because students as future actors in food supply will be faced with globalised markets, and they require expertise in the dynamics of food supply and trade in Asia. In the Asian partner countries, there is a strong need for qualified personnel leading the way to adaptation of the production and marketing process in horticulture to the changing market dynamics and increased demands in transition economies, especially regarding security and efficiency of supply, sustainability as well as food safety and quality of food products, both in local markets and in export. Universities have recognised the need to educate specialists in sustainable and quality-oriented food supply chain management and post harvest technology who are able to analyse and solve complex problems respecting the interests of numerous different stakeholders in food supply - and that international exchange is vital in this field.
