Projektbeschreibung
We propose to investigate many-body effects in highly doped
semiconductor heterostructures with reduced dimensionality
that is quantum dots, quantum wires, and quantum wells.
Although several manifestations of many-body effects in the
quasi-two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in strained InGaAs
quantum wells have been actively investigated over several
years, recently new data (including our own) indicates that
the current understanding may need to be re-evaluated. These
manifestations are, in particular, the Fermi-edge singulari-
tY (FES) and enhanced Fröhlich coupling. Only very few data
exist so far providing insight into many-electron effects in
structures with further reduced dimensionality.
