Mikrointegrierte Laser für die nächste Generation portabler optische Atomuhren

The aim of this project is to develop an all-semiconductor based, micro-integrated laser system for the optical local oscillator of the world’s first portable Al+ optical clock currently being developed at PTB. Once operational, this clock will constitute one of the most accurate and stable clocks worldwide. The laser technology can later be transferred to optical clocks based on other atomic species. The project will make available an enabling technology for portable and space-based optical clocks. It will initiate a long-term cooperation between FBH and the National Metrology Institute PTB and will sustain a partnership between FBH and Humboldt University.
